Kimberley cruises for 2021

“Hurry  – book now before we’ve sold out” – we know you’ve heard it all before – classic marketing speak especially in the travel industry.

But please, believe me when I say,  this time it is actually true! This is the tightest availability for Kimberley cruises than I have ever seen; especially as regards the smaller vessels (less than 50 passengers) that offer active Kimberley cruises.

Kimberley cruises have become more and more popular in the last decade. And why not? The Kimberley coast has an abundance of fascinating history, indigenous culture and native flora and fauna. However then came 2020!!!!  Just about every traveller that had a Kimberley cruise booking for 2020 has moved their reservation to 2021. So that season, that was already taking bookings, became almost full immediately. Add to that the continued restrictions on international travel for 2021 and demand has well and truly exceeded supply.

For example our friends at True North, one of the more iconic and long standing Kimberley cruise operators literally have just one cabin left for their entire 2021 season – an Ocean class cabin on their early season Kimberley Ultimate 14 day cruise. They are always a popular vessel in the Kimberley but that situation is extraordinary.

Another of our favourites, Kimberley Quest only has one or two cabins dotted about and Odyssey Expeditions, has sold all cabins on all Kimberley departures for 2021.(there may be a few cabins pop up due to international guests rescheduling but not many!)

But there is still time. Here are a few of the options available; it’s not an exhaustive list but a really good idea. If you have a different ship in mind I’m always happy to double check.

Eco Abrolhos – 38 passenger catamaran operates 13 night itineraries between Broome and Darwin and vice versa – just 4 cabins left for the entire season. From $13870 per person

Le Bellot by Ponant – luxury French operated expedition ship with 180 passengers. Notable about this ship is that all cabins have balconies. We have one or two reasonably priced balcony cabins available from $12380 per person for June and July departures on their 10 night expeditions from Darwin to Broome.

Coral Geographer – the latest ship to join the Coral Expeditions fleet. There are a few Coral Deck cabins available from $10990 per person although their Explorer Deck Balcony cabins starting at  $15590 are available in reasonable numbers.

Reef Prince have selected cabins available for 2021 but quite a few departures are now sold out.

Don’t forget all cruises all eligible for our exclusive special offer of two free nights accommodation (in Broome or Darwin) and a free sights tour.

Kimberley cruises 2022

Most of the cruises we are booking now are for 2022. Already we are hearing from all operators that interest is strong. And one vessel is offering a 15% early-bird discount for all Kimberley sailings in 2022 that are booked by the end of this year. We also have our Exclusive offer of two free nights’ accommodation* with every cruise plus a free sightseeing tour, and for 2022 we are upgrading that offer to 3 free nights when booked by 18 December 2020. I really encourage you to start thinking about 2022 now so we can lock in your first choice.
