Dammam serves as the capital city of Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia and is considered as fifth largest city in the Eastern Province after Riyadh, Jeddah, Mecca and Medina. The streets may not be of silver in this city, but they certainly shine with the spectacular view of the silver lined stunning beaches and several fishing spots across the city. Dammam is well known as the most ancient inhabited places for its many ancient artefacts in Rakah neighbourhood. The currency in this city is the Saudi Arabian Riyals (SAR). This magnificent city is well known as greater Dammam and is the largest metropolitan region with an estimated population of 4,140,000 in the Eastern Province occupied by three main neighbouring cities Dammam, Dhahran, and Khobar. The city has covered total area of approximately 800 square kilometers (308.9 sq mi).
