He became an apprentice carpenter for a couple of years while taking a break prior to tertiary studies. In 1991, Mark Pearson-Gills applied to, and was accepted into, the five year chiropractic program at RMIT in Melbourne, Australia. This is a competitive and prestigious program. In 1996 he graduated from that program, meaning he was a Doctor of Chiropractic. He obtained a double-degree too, with Bachelors degrees in Chiropractic Science and Applied Science.
